Size & Petticoat Guide
Lolita sizing can vary by brand, fabric, cut, and shirring. Please use the product-specific size chart whenever it is available. The guide below helps you read the charts more confidently.
How to Measure
- Bust: measure around the fullest part of your bust while wearing the bra you plan to coordinate with.
- Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist.
- Shoulder width: measure from shoulder point to shoulder point across the back.
- Dress length: compare the listed garment length with a dress you already own.
Choosing a Size
If a garment has shirring or an elastic bust, the chart may show a range. Choose a size where your body measurement sits comfortably inside the range, not exactly at the maximum. If you are between sizes, consider the fabric, sleeve fit, and whether the style is meant to be close-fitting.
CM and IN
Many Lolita charts are shown in centimeters. If inches are provided, they are usually converted from the centimeter chart. Small rounding differences can happen.
Petticoat Notes
Some product pages include a recommended petticoat length. We only add that recommendation when there is a clear reference. If no product-specific recommendation is shown, choose based on the skirt length and shape:
- Shorter daily JSK / OP: often pairs with a shorter daily-wear petticoat.
- Classic tea-length dresses: usually need a fuller but not overly long petticoat.
- Princess, Hime, wedding, and big-skirt styles: often need a stronger-volume petticoat for the intended shape.
